What is Bowen Therapy?
Bowen technique is a very gentle, non- invasive precise and effective technique to treat emotional and physiological problems. It was originally developed in the 1950's by the late Tom Bowen in Geelong, Australia when he became interested in ways to alleviate human suffering and began to notice that certain moves on the body had particular effects.
How does Bowen work?
There is no manipulation, Bowen moves stimulate the brain and the brain decides exactly what changes it needs to make and in what order and to which system.
Bowen is a technique that nudges and influences a change in the memory of the cells to help the body to restore to its natural balance often with long lasting impact.
It involves a series of gentle rolling moves over connective tissue with frequent pauses which help realign and balance the body at cellular level and stimulate energy flow. The precise moves stimulate the body, via the brain, to make what can be rapid changes in health, alleviating pain and discomfort which may have been present for many years.
